L&#039;\u00e9limination des droits d&#039;importation sur le soja et les produits de soja \u00e0 valeur ajout\u00e9e tels que l&#039;huile et le tourteau sont des priorit\u00e9s pour les intervenants de l&#039;industrie. Le cadre actuel du PTP \u00e9tablit des m\u00e9canismes pour \u00e9liminer les barri\u00e8res commerciales associ\u00e9es aux approbations de la biotechnologie, la r\u00e9glementation des nouvelles technologies de s\u00e9lection v\u00e9g\u00e9tale et les limites maximales de r\u00e9sidus de pesticides.<\/p>\n<p>\u00ab Le retrait des \u00c9tats-Unis du trait\u00e9 constitue \u00e9galement une opportunit\u00e9 majeure pour notre industrie \u00bb, a d\u00e9clar\u00e9 Davidson. &quot;L&#039;acc\u00e8s au libre-\u00e9change aux pays du Pacifique, en particulier au Japon, augmentera consid\u00e9rablement notre comp\u00e9titivit\u00e9 par rapport aux pays non membres du PTP.&quot;<\/p>\n<p>Une part importante des exportations canadiennes de soya est exp\u00e9di\u00e9e vers les pays du PTP. En 2016, environ 600 000 tonnes, soit 12 % des exportations totales de soja, ont \u00e9t\u00e9 exp\u00e9di\u00e9es vers les 10 autres pays du PTP pour une valeur de plus de $432 millions.
