Soy Canada Announces New Executive Director
Ottawa, Ontario (March 10th, 20201) – The Board of Directors of Soy Canada is pleased to announce that Brian Innes will be joining the organization as its Executive Director, effective May 3rd, 2021.
“Brian brings to Soy Canada an extensive background in agriculture and government,” says Ernie Sirski, Chair of Soy Canada. “His experience in working with all aspects of the agricultural value chain will serve Soy Canada well into the future”
Innes is optimistic about the future of Soy Canada and its members from across Canada.
“Soybeans are the third most valuable crop in Canada,” says Innes. “In working with seed companies, food grade and commodity exporters, processors and producers, I see the future of soybeans in Canada as being extremely bright.”
Innes joins Soy Canada from his role as Vice President of Public Affairs for the Canola Council of Canada. His tenure there allowed him to serve as President of the Canadian Agri-Food Trade Alliance (CAFTA). His previous experience also includes a background in public affairs.
“We are pleased that Brian has chosen to join our organization,” says Sirski. “He follows in the footsteps of Ron Davidson, who is retiring after 50 years of public service in agriculture and foreign affairs.”
